Marge Simpson’s Letter To First Lady Barbara Bush

To whom it may concern

A letter is so overlooked these days with the convenience of emails but you have to remember a clearly thought out, well written letter goes a long way.

So much so that Marge Simpson back in 1990 during The Simpsons second season wrote a letter to the First Lady Barbara Bush when she called the show, “the dumbest thing [she] had ever seen,” in an interview with People magazine.

These women are married to the most powerful men in the world so I guess they feel they can express themselves. Read Marge’s polite response below.

What a Real Life Smurf Looks Life

Maybe I’ve eaten too many Smurf Berries

After finding out that the science fiction within Comedy Central‘s Futurama isn’t actually Fiction, you begin to think what else could actually be real.

Then came this, a render of what a Smurf would look like it if it were real. Great render, so life like. Mind you- I wouldn’t mind if these little rascals were in the Smurf 3D movie instead, can you imagine what they would do to Gargamel?

The Science of Futurama is Actually Real in Our World Today

How Futurama gets science right (sort of)

The same world we see Fry stare of  could well and truly be our world of tomorrow.

Usually these articles are fun facts, mere quips for us to read and enjoy like the Futurama inventions we WISHED were real but to actually have a source like Discovery Channel tell us the science fiction isn’t exactly fiction is amazing. I’ve always wanted to go out for a drink with someone like Bender.

Talal Al-Khatib discovers the truth

The article over at Discovery Channel may not help the dream of  sharing a drink with Bender but it does share insights on the weird of insightful things from the world of tomorrow such as;

Diseases

The first half of the first episode of the sixth season, titled “Rebirth,” begins with a simple conundrum: All of the characters are dead save Professor Farnsworth (and one other, though we won’t say who to avoid spoiling it for you).

To reanimate his very dead crew, the Professor has a simple answer: bathing the remains of the deceased in a stem-cell solution in what he calls a “birth machine.”

Reviving the dead, for now, remains an impossibility. But using stem cells to rebuild damaged tissue? That process is growing closer to reality as a number of institutions have explored the possibility of using stem cells to promote tissue regeneration of skin, muscles, blood vessels and more.

Human trials for these procedures are still years away, however.

Even Heads…in Jars !

In the world of “Futurama,” humans share their universe not only with aliens, robots and mutants, but also historical figures ranging from dead presidents (with a recurring role for Richard Nixon) to contemporary celebrities.

How are these long-dead people kept alive in the 31st century? It’s simple: Their severed heads are preserved in jars.

Keeping heads preserved in a jar may seem impossible and has yet to be proven, but the U.S. government has granted patents to applicants claiming they had developed systems for keeping severed heads alive. There’s even

If you think the heads in the jars thing was eerie peer over to the Discovery Channel Futurama page and see more of what we humans could be living like thanks to the imagination of Matt Groening…and science too- I guess.

“The Simpsons” Feature in “Apollo 13” Trailer

Homer Simpson takes one small step for man kind

Apollo 13  was the seventh manned mission in the American Apollo space program and the third intended to land on the Moon while Homer Simpson is one of the dumbest characters you will see in your life time.

Doesn’t sound like a good combination does it? That’s what I thought until I saw this well crafted Apollo 13 and The Simpsons Mashup.

All I can say now is God Speed Homer…God Speed!
