Six Point Harness pay their respects to Alpha Man

Superheroes never die but if they did!

Ed: That’s a fair point. What annoys me is Superman. I mean the guy has nearly every super power and no weaknesses!

Larry: No weaknesses ? Let’s not exaggerate Ed.

Ed: I’m sorry. He has one. It’s a small, no. It’s a tiny, no. It’s a lilliputian  piece of rock that floats somewhere in the distant universe only to be seen when the writers realise that superman needs to die. The strange thing is when he does die he comes back in some ridiculous plot line.

Larry: It’s not ridiculous. The sun all the cells in his body, right?

Ed: Just watch this video on College Humor made by Six Point Harness Studios. It shows what would happen at a ‘funeral’ for the superhero Alpha Man entitled Realistic Superhero Funeral, written by Caldwell Tanner and Owen Parsons.

South Park “Coon 2 Hindsight” Attacks the English & BP

Ed: The latest SP episode “The Coon 2” aired yesterday just as the controversy died down from last weeks SP episode Insheepsion. Yet far from putting out a less controversial episode to avoid the spotlight, Matt Stone and Trey Parker did the opposite.

Larry: Although the episode won’t cause a big stir in the newspapers, SP launched comic attacks on BP and BP CEO Tony Hayward. Both company and manager are portrayed as utter imbeciles (and who could argue)

Ed: Throughout the episode you get the general sense that SP are mocking the whole of England. To me it seemed the English are portrayed as a bunch of dithering idiots with no clue, maybe that’s just me…

Larry: It’s always just you, loner. You’ve just mistaken that SP were in fact mocking BP alone and not all English people. SP weren’t mocking the nation as a whole just one of our biggest and most important companies because they made a massive cock-up.

Ed: Your probably right, now I know how all the people in Jersey must feel, being stereotyped into that one group. When someone says Jersey all I think is GTL. But hey that’s comedy people are going to get ripped on from time to time

Watch The Coon 2: Hindsight Preview

Ed: Following the scandal caused by Matt stone and Trey Parker copying other writers material we’re all ready for the new South Park episode.

Larry: The Coon 2 is the long awaited sequel to the Coon which was a spoof of the Dark Knight. While the Coon was a well structured spoof, I’m sure the Coon 2 won’t focus on spoofing any movies. It will instead follow the exploits of Cartman as the Coon and his friends as they help the victims of BPs latest catastrophic drilling accident in the Gulf

Ed: As always South Park stay relevant to whats happening in the world today even if the BP spill happened a while back now. Weather SP are struggling to come up with their own storylines is another matter all we want is a great episode with no ripped off material

Moolt – Have Gay

Ed: In Moolt new episode Hayk Manukyan introduces Abo and Karo’s mom. It’s fair to say Abo and his Mum have a warped understanding of homosexuality.

Larry: Yet they still swap ideas like their experts. I love this new episode it’s a great follow-up from their earlier episode about Lady Gaga

Ed: Enjoy the new episode we’re sure you’ll love it as much as us

Cartoon Court Case #1: Is Stewie Griffin an Original Concept?

Ed
: Just stumbled across a picture from Seth Macfarlane showing how he first imagined and drew Stewie from Family Guy. Here’s Stewie in 1997, Looking a bit like a squid if you ask me, just look at those feet.

Ed: What is that a mouth or a beak, hey I’m glad they refined the drawing before Family guy came out. Here’s the Stewie of 2010 that we’re all use to seeing on family Guy.

Ed: There’s a big difference if you compare the two pictures, I think the drawing from 1997 is a lot more cartoony than the Stewie now days but the original concept has been worked on a lot.

Larry: Sorry I can’t go on with this any longer. You said orginal concept. Family Guy is not known for original concepts. South Park was until The Plagiarism of College Humor but not Family Guy.

Ed: What are you getting at. Our readers are impatient.

WELCOME TO CARTOON COURT CASE:Where Cartoons Debate Cartoons.

Larry: Take a trip with me back to 1991. A character named Jimmy Corrigan, the Smartest Kid on Earth was created by Chris Ware. You’re honour I bring to you the evidence A, below is a cartoon drawn in 1996 three years before the premier of Family Guy.

Ed: Huh Larry what are you smoking. Who the hell is your honour?

Judge: Silence in the court room.

Ed: How did you get here. Larry come on that’s just a coincidence. Have you got any one to back you up on that?

Larry: Your honour. I would like to bring forward my only witness Entertainment Weekly Magazine.

Ed: Objection!! This is bull-

Judge: Denied. Proceed Larry.

Larry: Thank you and might I add your hair is looking good today, new shampoo? Entertainment Weekly had this to say

Comic-book fans have been buzzing about a certain familiarity they’ve noticed recently: namely, that Stewie, the football-shaped-headed child who loathes his mother and invents diabolical weapons on Fox’s Family Guy, bears a striking resemblance to a comic-strip character: Jimmy Corrigan, the Smartest Kid on Earth (right), a football-shaped-headed child who fears his mother and invents things to escape from her. Chris Ware has been drawing Jimmy since 1991, creating a series of comic books called the Acme Novelty Library. A collection of Jimmy’s adventures will be published by Pantheon next spring. Says Ware, “I don’t want a book of seven years’ worth of my stuff to become available and then be accused of being a rip-off of Family Guy.”

Larry: Seth MacFarlane even went as far as to include a joke where Stewie breaks the neck of an Entertainment Weekly reporter in the Family Guy Movie. I’m sorry but with the plagiarism taking place I cannot lie down and see this article go the way it is!

Judge: The court is in favour of Larry the Cartoon. Ed  let this be a lesson to you. Don’t put out false articles.

Ed: ARGH!! What jury? All I said original concept. That was it. Larry you have to much time on your hands and you judge I don’t even know how you got here but don’t make a habit of it.

CNN for Gamers: Online Underground Series

Ed: I’m loving Online Underground. The way we present animated comedy news through our blog like CNN reporters, the Guys at Ghostbot have done the same for Machinima and Jungle but instead it’s

Larry: For video games.

Ed: Yeah. This time the guys report the latest news about online game EVE while making some funnies along the way

LarryEVE Online, can’t touch me on that man

Ed: Argh. The great thing about the animation is the characters make the news of video games that much more exciting. Having the characters fight and argue is great. You even have one who makes it his soul purpose to

Larry: piss the other one off!

Ed: ….How did you guess?

Larry: Call it a hunch.

South Park Plagiarism of College Humor

Family Guy plagiarise, it’s what they do. Simpsons Can’t copy because they’ve done it all. South Park is original…oh wait no it’s not!

Larry: For Animated Comedy writers to come up with original ideas it is getting pretty hard these days, especially when you’ve had the Simpsons running for 22 seasons and before that king of the hill and others.

Ed: We all know that Family Guy is one of the funniest shows on TV (at least it was a few years ago) but we have all seen the similarities of their jokes and storylines compared to The Simpsons (Youtube it)

Larry: On the other hand you have south Park which throughout it’s years on TV, episodes have for the most part seemed completely original in terms of its ideas and jokes. But no more!

Ed: Following watching and enjoying the new SP episode Insheeption which parodied the movie Inception starring Leonardo DiCaprio, we noticed an unto familiar scene

Larry: It appeared that South Park directly copied and pasted this scene from a Gurewitch/Young video on CollegeHumor.com into their episode

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Ed: Who knew that SP would stoop so low as to blatantly copy someone elses work? Your probably now trying to convince yourself that this is just a coincidence, SP would never copy someone else. Well we wish that where true as well but, Matt Stone and Trey Parker recently said it was true after Gurewitch – creator of the Inception spoof on college humor – posted on his blog about the similarities of his spoof episode and SP episode:

“Well, this is odd. It looks as if South Park essentially plagiarized Inception Characters Don’t Understand Inception, a sketch written by me and David Young a few months ago.

“I’m conflicted, because I absolutely adore South Park. I admire Trey Parker and Matt Stone more than almost anyone currently working in comedy. To give them the benefit of the doubt, I’d say maybe it’s an homage — I’d be honored — but while our sketch was popular, it wasn’t nearly the national phenomenon it’d have to be for them to parody it.”

Gurewitch later said on his blog:

“David and I just got off the phone with Matt Stone (coolest sentence I’ve ever written). He was extremely nice and apologetic. He explained that when they couldn’t get a copy of an ‘Inception’ screener, they used our sketch as source material. They thought that the lines in our sketch were taken directly from ‘Inception’ (and the joke was that they were arranged in rapid succession), rather than original lines written by us.”

Larry: So it seems that it was all sorted out and Matt Stone and Trey Parker managed to play it off as a mistake

Ed: Weather that is the truth or not who knows, but one things is for sure if any other stolen lines or material appears on SP they can expect a greater backlash from their fans who may not be so forgiving the second time round.

Larry: Aside from all this commotion, SP continue their great run of episodes of late and continue to show Family guy and all other animated comedies that way forward

Ed: Lets hope when Family guy airs its next episode on november 7th it will be a good one because I can see them losing some fans after they made a miserable restart to their series
